Dog Obedience Training in Bel Air, MD: From Basic to Advanced

From kitchen-reliable to street-reliable. What each level of obedience looks like, and how to actually get there.

Most dogs know what sit means. Few sit when there is a squirrel across the street. The gap between knowing a command and reliably performing it under distraction is what obedience training closes.

Level 1: foundations.

Sit, down, place, come, heel. In a quiet room, on a leash, with the handler one step away. Most dogs reach this level in a few weeks of consistent work.

Level 2: low distractions.

Same commands, more environment. Backyard. Front porch. Quiet sidewalk. The dog has to hold the behavior with mild distractions present.

Level 3: high distractions.

The town. Other dogs. Strangers. Real life. This is where most obedience training falls apart, because most programs do not put in the reps in real environments. Ours does.

Level 4: off leash, real world.

Recall under distraction. Heel without a leash. Place command at home with the front door open. This is the destination. It is real. It is achievable. It takes structured progression.

How long does it take?

Depends on the dog and the household. The honest answer is: faster than you think with a structured program, slower than you want without one. We give you a real timeline at the consultation.
